Since Lord Stanley gave his Cup for the best Canadian Team – the Real Champions

In 1892, the afterwards Governor General of Canada, Lord Frederick Arthur Stanley, dedicated the Silver Bowl to the people of the Dominion of Canada for, “the hold up hockey group in the Dominion.”
Â
The Stanley Cup became the idealisation esteem for Canadian hockey teams, awarded initial in 1893 to the Montreal Amateur Athletic Association (AAA). The crater has been won any year given (except 2005 – the Black Year of the Lockout – when the NHL refused to recover the Cup to an additional League).
In 1919, the Stanley Cup Champions, Montreal Canadiens, trafficked to Seattle to fool around the post-Championship muster array with the Seattle Metropolitans. The array was cancelled since of the Great Influenza Epidemic. The Americans still similar to to impute to 1919 as “no decision.”
Â
In 1926, the National Hockey League “adopted” Lord Stanley’s Cup as their own as good as have hexed it up to this writing.
Not any Canadian agrees with this “adoption” or the teams which have been admitted champions.

Â
In an essay in The Lawyers Weekly entitled “Does the Stanley Cup go to the NHL or the Canadian people?” Tim Gilbert wrote, “If the Stanley Cup is not the free role trust, afterwards the certitude fails as good as the skill reverts to the grantor, as good as outward the carry out of the NHL. As Lord Stanley was Governor General when he gave the cup, the crater might return behind to the Office of the Governor General. In this approach the crater might indeed go to the people of Canada.” Go to lawersweekly.ca to review the full article…
Â
What it comes down to is this: Lord Stanley, the16th Earl of Derby, Governor General of the Dominion of Canada, during his own expense, gave to us his “challenge crater which should be hold from year to year by the hold up hockey group in the Dominion.”
Which equates to which Lord Stanley’s Silver Bowl belongs to the final Canadian Team station during the finish of the Regular or Post Season!
There is no approach around that.
Therefore, the Stanley Cup Champions for 2010 have been the Montreal Canadiens!
*
And it follows which the “official” jot down books have been wrong. Since usually teams from the Dominion of Canada can be awarded Lord Frederick’s Cup, the Real Champions aren’t regularly recognized.
*
Who then, have been the REAL Lord Stanley’s Champions? Which, from the strange Montreal AAA in 1893 to 2010′s Montreal Canadiens, was the LAST CANADIAN TEAM STANDING any year?

Concluding Rant:
Since Lord Stanley gave his Cup for “the hold up hockey group in the Dominion,” it’s not the right of any one though the True Canadian group to be awarded it.
Perhaps the Right Honourable Stephen Harper can step in. Prime Minister Harper has proven himself to be the male of vision, honour as good as the loyal loyalist – as good as an consultant upon Hockey History. Shouldn’t the Stanley Cup be put behind in the caring of the Governor General’s office?
